Things to do in Costa Rica
Local cultural opportunities, tours / things to do in Costa Rica
Costa Rica is recognized worldwide as a tourist destination. Biological diversity is our main attraction. The Costa Rican Tourist Board (ICT) offers a wide array of possibilities, and contact information for tours all over the country (beaches in the Atlantic Coast and the Pacific Coast, mountain ranges, volcanoes, jungle, etc.). It would be ideal to plan vacation time before or after the conference. In the attached documents we offer additional information on tourism possibilities. Moreover, the Local Committee will offer two different tours to nature sites (Poás Volcano and to Lankester Botanical Garden, which is the leading research center of UCR on Mesoamerican region flora) and cultural tours including the Jade Museum and Gold Museum, which house exquisite collections reflecting our ancestral cultures.
